Hey Jesse,

Your best bet is to start with Redhat Linux 8.0. There are a ton of books you
can get at the bookstore, or for free from books24x7. The library should have
some as well.

You can download any Linux distribution for free from a vendors site, or the
iso images from linuxiso.org. If you are willing to shell out a few bucks,
Compusa and Bestbuy sell Redhat (and Mandrake, Suse) with a book for under
$50, often with email support.

If you are going to UNR, you can get in touch with the acm ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
and they'll burn a copy of Redhat Linux (or what ever you want) for a nominal
cost.

Of course, you could always ask someone on the list for a copy, show up to
our next meeting, and get one for free.

Remember, it's Linux, not lynux ;)
