Now on to my questionI have a perfectly serviceable machine sitting here atm, powercenter 132, easy enough to drop debian or yellowdog on it, and make a nice little desktop out of it, I have a display as well, but I don't know that they'd want it, its a bit old and crufty, otherwise the machine is good to go....
I had a meeting today with a member of the Board for the Nevada State Fair.
The Fair is looking for a donation of 5 (working) computers and would like to have them networked.
Software requirements include an office suite, browser, email client, accounting software at a minimum.
The board would like to have everything up and running by Jan 10.
I asked if they had considered Linux and the response was "What's that?"
So folks, between all of our resources in RLUG and RAWUG would we as an organization
be up to taking on this challenge?
To furnish, install and configure a 5 node network with the appropriate whistles & bells?
At the very least we would be listed as a sponsor but there might be a few more perks later.
