This is probably blasphemy, but I've been playing with Fedora Core 1 under VMware and I'm starting to like it. No where near as powerful as what you can do with Debian or Gentoo package wise (never used Libranet), but the default settings make setting up the system brain-dead. Of course, there is always Freebsd (but that's not a desktop OS! BSD is dying! arrr!).
