Some of us don't have the luxury of choosing our operating system for the work environment. Until someone can give me open source tools to replace things like the Exchange 2000 manager, Windows 2000 Active Directory Administration and a way to run apps written in VB under Linux, I have to put up with Microsoft too.

Who am I to judge? I have to use Microsoft Closedware all day at work, ...though I do make sure to use putty (MIT Lic.) to ssh (BSD Lic.) to an OpenBSD (BSD Lic.) host where I use mutt (GPL), Vim (Vim Lic.) and postfix (IBM Pub. Lic.) to send posts to a Mailman (GPL) mailing list manager. In the words of Billy Joel: "My other world is just a half a mile away." And that's all that keeps me going sometimes. ... That and the "Edit with Vim" option in my WinXP context menu. :) Side-note: GNU describes the IBM Public License (incl. Postfix's Secure Mailer License) as incompatible with the GPL. However, Debian has deemed the IBMPL as "Free Enough" for inclusion. Any comments on this? How strict, really, is Debian in license censoring? Any input, Sam?
