I can't say with any certainty what is going on but the first place I would
look is at the firewall. Try turning that off and see if it might be
rejecting mail ports.

Subject: [RLUG] Evolution can't send e-mail

I have loaded my contacts from outlook into Evolution. I have loaded my old
e-mail from outlook into Evolution. Firewall is Firestarter. Virus Checker
is F-Prot.

All of a sudden I can't send e-mail. I have to go back to Outlook (dual
boot system) to send e-mail.

Help! Does anyone know e-mail and Evolution enough to help?

I checked with GBIS tech support and the SMTP; mail.greatbasin.net; and SSL
turned off, are all set. Remember, everything was working fine, I do not
know what I was doing that might have caused the outgoing e-mail to stop.

Linux version is Xandros 2.0.

AMD 1800+ cpu
512 Memory

I turned off the firewall. Still no outgoing mail. I opened port 25 on the
firewall. Still no outgoing mail. Receiving fine.

And thanks to Colin Corr for helping me get my outlook files into evolution.

All the best.
