Well, not really addressing the qualifications of Communigate Pro, but
the yardstick here. Look, if you want something that looks like a duck,
quacks like a duck, and waddles like a duck, just buy Exchange.

The original poster seems to want something that *is* Exchange, only
not. Well, what is it that you want un-Exchange like? Cost? Licensing?
Specific features? Figure that out, and then buy to suit.

The idea that ANY piece of software will be 100% identical to another is
just silly. A lot of applications interoperate or share common
protocols, but if they were identical in every way, what would be the
point?

Some people refuse to try OpenOffice, because it isn't Word. Well,
fine...Microsoft is happy to own their souls. Me, I prefer the cost and
licensing of OpenOffice, even though it does have a few rough spots. In
this case, I found an application that was Good Enough (tm) for my
needs. Maybe in this case, nothing besides Exchange will measure up.
*shrug*

Personally, I think most of the features of Outlook are bloatware, too
tightly integrated into the OS, and will cause nothing but problems.
There are 1,001 email gateways, groupware suits, calendaring apps, and
so forth. But if they all have to be in the same package *AND* have to
be comepletely integrated with Outlook, why even have the conversation?

Todd's "Customer Disservice Hall of Shame" currently contains:
    - Charter Communications: Mislead their customers about service
levels, block normal Internet connectivity, and exhibit excessive
      downtime.
    - AT&T: Honoring the "checks" they send out to entice you to switch
      long-distance providers is apparently optional.
    - eFax: Receive (not send) 20 pages of *unsolicited* faxes, and lose
      your account.
