Today I pulled the plug on my rosehosting vserver accounts. I got an immediate response from them claiming that they have new hardware to solve the performance problems on the way. This was the first time they admitted to any performance problems.
I'm starting to think the problems were vendor related not a general issues with UML/vserver setups, so I'm willing to withdraw my comments with out more data points. Linnode makes more guarantees about the level of service than rosehosting, so maybe the result would have been better had I used them... Either way, my new server at hostrack seems to be working perfectly, and at exactly the same price of my rosehosting accounts. So far no complaints.
