Two unrelated items: I have a guy who has lost his root password. As far as I know
he has to reinstall to reset the account. Am I right? Second, I have another guy – I swear, none of this is
me – who creates files/folders via FTP remotely and wants to access them
locally over Samba. The permissions are being set by VSFTP so that Samba is
read only. Under Samba the permissions are nobody:nobody drwxrwsrwx in this “public”
directory (/home/public). Of course over FTP there is a login/pass and the
stuff created ends up as public:nobody drwxr-sr-x. How can I make a remote
authenticated user create files in a public directory that local users can have
their way with? Thanks guys, R |
