I'm looking for a prebuilt AMD 64 workstation. And recommendations on a vendor? Anybody building these locally? It would be nice if Fedora Linux x86_64 was preloaded.
I have an eMachines T6000 (Athlon64 3200+, 512MB, 160GB, Radeon 9600), bought christmas 2003. It works great, but unfortunately eMachines only made 5 of them: 3 went to the Reno Best Buy, and the other 2 went to a store in Sioux City, IA. I suppose that doesn't help you out too much.
Any reason against ordering a barebones system? I've heard good things about Shuttle's athlon64 line. Get something like an SN85G4V3 w/CPU and memory, then just add a HD and an optical drive.
