Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. Yes, my curiosity and excitement about new things is still at a teenage level but my body doesn't want to cooperate like it did.
I just installed the new PCBSD (BSD with an installer) and it work! First time I've had BSD on a machine and it was as easy as a Linux install (which, of course, is easier than a Windows install). DistroWatch has the scoop, if you're interested.
Once again, thanks for the reply. Wish I knew a way to help the LUG, but I'm not much use to anyone now, like Marley's Ghost, dragging an oxygen hose around like his chains.
What a great boon for Reno it is to have the RLUG. Hope people from outlying areas are hearing about it.
