I run the official client, namely the btdownloadcurses client. Gentoo's default ebuild doesn't include the stats that Mark was talking about, but I found out that the "bittorrent-stats" package does. You can also download the latest version from the site <http://bittorrent.com>. The curses version I mention above only has 2 main prerequisites: python and curses. I run it inside a screen session on a headless server I have at home so I can ssh in and check it whenever I need to. I don't really know any pros and cons because I've never run another client. btdownloadcurses does the job, it gives my all the seed/peer statistics I like, and it does both well in a low-overhead terminal screen. I've never needed to look elsewhere.
