I do not want to start nor participate in a flame war over this, but I
have a strong opinion on it nonetheless.
If anyone is totally stuck using RHEL they should just use Windows
instead. Windows is just as proprietary as RHEL but costs much less
over at least a 3-year period.
You can view my extended thoughts regarding RHEL at

No flame here. I was suggesting NOT to use RHLE, but if you must use it,
use one of the distros that present RH's contributions to the
open-source community, packaged differently, with non-proprietary
support of some sort or other.
I have strong opinions about Microsoft. It has frown to be the world's
largest monopoly, and I suggest no one use it, for any reason, because
that's tantamount to helping them break the laws of many nations. One
becomes an accessory, after the fact. Or use any other distributions,
*NIX or otherwise, that one is required to pay for.
Grinning, I add that "tantamount" was used on purpose because maybe
that's a good way to describe the distributions that fly and be free
with the open source portions of proprietary distributions, i.e.,
Scientific Linux, CentOS, or Core's fav, Tao are all "tantamount"
distribution.
BTW, there's another open-source RHEL distro not yet mention, called
Lineox, from Finland, that looks pretty durn good.
I hope this doesn't constitute a "flame." I'm not sure I know what that
means, but if "flame" is a euphemism for rudeness, and I have been rude
I apologies, for I want no part of that. But I know I don't have to
worry because I believe this forum is full of fair, honest, smart people
and that's what makes it fun to read and useful to those of us who, such
as myself, are the dimmer bulbs in the magnificent Linux chandelier.
Besides, you're all cute, too.
