I do not see why changelogs means MDS. I think you do not know very well how Changelogs work. You've mounted a client on the MDS node, and this is what Robinhood is using actually, not the MDS part. Lustre Changelogs are always ready from a client, and cannot be read from a simple MDT even if you really want it

Lustrefilesystem mount is mounted on to the MDS itself /mnt/client/lustre

That's what makes all of this working.

MDS robinhood daemons send changelog updates to the mysql server IPoIB.
Watchout for your SQL traffic and be sure this is not a bottleneck.

If we have to run reports they would be executed from the mds (rbh-report etc) , scary.

No reason to be scary, you do not have too run this on MDS as RBH only needs a client.

It is now my understanding that we can put everything on one dedicated server as long as it is connected to the IB fabric?We can get change logs from the client ?

Not "you can", but "you must".
