This is a duplicate of issue 688 which was already rejected more than a year ago. It seems the robot team is completely against this idea. From comment 16 in that issue:
'We decided not to implement this feature, or include it even if it would be got "for free".'
One workaround is to simply create a keyword named "metadata" that takes an arbitrary number of arguments but is a no-op.
