Removed my patch on my machine months ago, but haven't encountered the bug since (even with 2.6.1). I also added the extra detail patch unsilence the root cause you suggested earlier to have the information once the error occurs (and it isn't reproducible as in "only happened sometimes"), no occurence yet.
I have no idea how to reproduce this, perhaps someone will find this report via google who can. IMO my patch shouldn't be shipped with robotframework as a workaround because I don't understand what it does (only that it helps other people with similar stacktraces), or where the problem is.
