New issue 1660 by [email protected]: Remote: support multiple remote
library instances
http://code.google.com/p/robotframework/issues/detail?id=1660
When using remote libraries, sometimes there is a need to have the same
library running on multiple hosts. Ideally a user keyword that executes a
remote keyword should be able to ignore the particular instance being used.
If Remote supported multiple instances and had a way to switch between them
(as Switch Browser in Selenium2Library or Switch Connection in SSHLibrary),
the user keywords would not need to "know" which instance to communicate
with.
As a workaround, I created a proof of concept library[1] that encapsulates
Remote and adds these to keywords: Switch Remote Library and Add Remote
Library.
From the activity on the user group, I believe adding similar keywords to
Remote would be beneficial for everyone, although there is some risk of
BWIC due to name collision.
