The error means that the control V4L2_CID_EXPOSURE_AUTO could not be read
and will not be used (just means that you will not be able to use
automatic exposure control) and "extraneous bytes before marker" is just
an annoying warning which could be ignored.
I am not sure whether I understand your last question. If the camera
supports jpeg-compression (image/jpeg), you should use
camera.camera_format = :MODE_JPEG (camera will do the work for you)
camera.output_format = :MODE_UNDEFINED (just keep the received format)
