I know I'd be ready, willing, and able to toss in a few bucks to this
as well. The question becomes what happens when we have one person who
gets to, let's say, 88% of original firmware, and then one person
comes along with 3% to push it across the line. Do we divvy it up by
percent? By duration of record held? Or is it winner-take-all?
This is not to say it's a bad idea -- quite the opposite -- just that
it is not a simple one.

I'm not too sure if it's due to lack of developer time, or lack of hardware
docs. Either way, if it helps, I'd like to wager $100 towards an effort to
bring runtime within at least 90% of the original firmware (or whatever is
deemed to be reasonably achievable if there is an unresolvable documentation
issue)
If you think this has a chance to succeed, please accept my wager. If there
is no current way to gather wagers like mine, I can look into some kind of
online petition to get more wagers.
Thanks,
Marc
