However I do like the idea of settings being loaded by default even if
it meant a bit of work to implement.
I can see one problem with that though, and that is what happens for
example if you want to have something like battery bench running? I no
people won't use that plugin very offten, but if i remember right,
that doesn't allow you to have any other plugins running while your
using it, so unless there is a work around for it, it seems to me that
you wouldn't be able to change settings while battery bench was being
run, which i think would be a bit of a drawback unless there is a
solution.
I'd propose this: battery bench doesn't use the plugin buffer at all,
but steals his 512bytes from the main ram. So, stop playback -> start
battery bench -> start playback again. There's also other plugins doing
this.
I assume those 512 shouldn't have a huge impact on the battery life. But
this way, you couldn't only change settings while running a battery test
(given that the settings menu is a plugin), but also could messure
plugins impact on the battery life. That's IMHO very desirable,
especially to messure how long you can watch videos (a time many
manufractors advertise with) using the mpegplayer plugin or how long you
can do your doom session without fearing you lose your progress because
you ran out of batter before saving.
