Also, when you talk about stopping and starting playback isn't that
something the user has to do already when there going to start the
battery bench plugin.
I no a blind user would have to at least, because at the moment of
course, in order to use speech effectively you have to stop playback
as its hard to hear speech when an audio file is playing, and you
can't use speech when a file is paused.
As of now it uses the plugin buffer. Using the main ram would remove the
limitation to be not able to run other plugins.
As for the playback: No, in it's current form it starts with active
playback and it doesn't stop it.
In my proposal you would need to stop the playback (in order to steal
main ram safely). That's something that can be done automatically on
starting though (mpegplayer and doom do it).
I'm not sure what speech has to do with it.
