I think it might be very annoying for users which already know Rockbox quite well (and I claim it's a quite decent amount of people).

How about we extend the warning to something like this:

"Erase dynamic playlist"?

Select - Yes
(any free button) - Yes, and don't this again
Other - No
I think this option will lead to people accidentally disabling the option. Current users of Rockbox probably know enough to be able to disable the setting, anyway. It's only something that needs to be done once.

Do you really think the risk is so high that it's not worth the implemention? It's one button. The risk is higher that the user doesn't get his selection to be played due to "other - no" which may lead to frustration.

I actually believe that new users take the time to read 4 little lines of text, especially if they expected music to be played back.

I think that this is a bad idea.

Well, it'll also hit every user which never changed the default setting. Due to the way Rockbox works, settings that are not changed will always be the default, even if the default value changes

The point of defaults is to be reasonably nice to most users and especially new users because experienced users will know how to change settings anyway.

This way of showing the warning wouldn't at all reduce the way it works. The warning will show up, just that the user can decide in place if he wants to be notified.

I think my proposal is just as reasonable to new users, and more reasonable to users who know what they do.
