I don't think they should fail to apply. And if, it should not be hard to manually apply them, as they don't go deep into the source. The patches can be found here:

Sadly, your codec performance comparison isn't really meaningful if not even your "recommended" compiler version (4.0.3) doesn't have the patches applied.


Sorry, I wasn't clear. 4.0.3 *does* have the one arm-related patch available applied. Stuff for sh or coldfire or gcc 3.4.x did not apply, so I did not apply those patches.

4.4.0 did not get patched, because it's not clear any apply. The diff for 4.0.3 probably wouldn't work. I could "interpret" the contents of the diff myself, and modify the corresponding file in 4.4.0 if necessary.
