So, I'm planning to make the absolute point mode default very soon after
kinetic scrolling is in.
The argument is that Rockbox appears to be broken for new users that are
surprised when confronted with the grid mode (which has no visual
indications). And I can say Rockbox works nicely[*] with the absolute
mode now.
I would like to do it for all touchscreens, but I don't know the
cabbiev2 situation on all touchscreen devices, or recording & fm radio
screen if there is one. Are these controllable with the absolute point mode?
I'd propose to make the change for all and force people to adapt the
missing parts finally (the absolute point mode is not a new thing at
all)? You can always get to the touchscreen settings to enable grid the
mode if it's unfeasible. Any opinions?
Best regards.
*: The graphical EQ screen doesn't work, but it's exitable and (partly)
controllable with the D-Pad or the keypad. It also has a list-based
alternative, so I don't consider it a blocker.
