not sure if this is the right place to post this, but in my work's
recent Roller installation, we required a really good, cross-browser
editor, and have adapted the open source product FCK Editor, which is
javascript based and very comprehensive in functionality, and IMHO much
better than the current editors that ship with Roller.

If you would be interested, I could write a guide to using it with Roller.
Ditto for Oracle (9i) - to save people trawling through the roller-user
archives. The database table creation scripts are already in the Roller
(2.0) install package, you just need the user creation statements, and a
guide to which JDBC jars to use.
Roller's an excellent product - would be good to give something back.
