If we can agree that either JDO or JPA works as well or better than Hibernate, then yes we'll won't use Hibernate anymore. But, we won't really know the answer to that question until we have some implementations to compare. Also, note that If JPA is "the one" then then users could conceivably continue to use Hibernate -- because Hibernate implements the JPA intefaces. - Dave
