I realize that for a group blog this can get tricky. Maybe as part of accepting the invitation to join a group blog, the user could specify their preference there. For blogs that get less traffic, this way of getting notified via email is a great way to know that there is new data in the blog, which needs to be looked at.
We've already got comment notification, so I guess what you want to email notification of new entry creation. i.e. members of a blog get an email when a new entry is created and saved in either draft or publish state. - Dave
