Oh, so what if a user just cut and pastes the link into a browser and comes up 
with that error...that's okay then?

If they are using their own web log software they insert it into the program, 
and the program links to it.

That's because Trackbacks URL are supposed to be sent by program, not 
by a user with a web browser. You should cut-and-paste the Trackback 
URL into the Send Trackback field of a blog entry to sent a trackback 
from that blog entry to a destination Trackback URL.
