Specifically:

2.3.1 Linux considerations (including RedHat 5.X)

This will tell you what you need to do to get stock ROM to compile on a Linux
system. If you've modified your source significantly, and still can't get it to
compile then I'd suggest emailing us the error messages you're recieving so we
can help you further.
