gvim... It has automatic indenting in any language I prefer, automatic syntax 
highlighting in any language I prefer, fully customizable, and 
extra-ordinarily powerful. If I'm in Windows, well I still prefer gvim! :P

No, seriously... there's just something about not having to leave the 
*keyboard* to do anything I want to do to some text.  I even once setup my 
mail to use an external editor.. "vim -g" .. (gui interface. ;)
