Oh I know this :) 
I reversed the situation when I loaded room progs and object progs in
(convert everything from the way olc2 handled them back to saving them
all in the area). That's why I said it was possible, just not exactly
the easiest thing in the world to do.

This is nothing which can't be solved by properly versioning the
area-files and teaching your load routines to handly this.
