Hi everyone again! I've successfully made patches, but now I have something that people will actually want to hear! I know this is the ROM list, but this is good info! Today, I just plain got tired of Microsoft Notepad. You can only open up small files, when you patch something or zip it with Winzip and unzip it (Yuck! Get Cygwin and use tar and gzip) it shows black blocks where newlines should be, it has a limited amount of searching capabilities, i.e. it can only search up OR down, and you can't replace words or phrases, and it doesn't show the line and column of your cursor (a must when programming!!!). That's why I searched on google for 'free text editor notepad' and came up with metapad! Metapad fixes all this! Unlimited file size, cursor info, tabify and untabify (you can specify the block of code), recent files, file size calculator, starts up and loads a 200 kb file in a second (really), and they were thinking of programmers on the side too, because you can specify the file endings you would like to see (.cpp, .c, .h, ...), and much, much more! Guess how much room it takes up! 93 kb!!! All it has are the essentials to programmers and text editing! Nothing more, not all the junk Windows Wordpad has that takes forever to load and screws up tabs! Also, Linux users, I was told theres a program called WINE that translates the Windows API to the Linux API. If I'm not mistaken -- what does this mean? It means you, too, can use Metapad! Cool, isn't it!
