My vote still goes for SLED as best editor ever. It had (and I say had, since for some reaon Win98 VDM won't run it, and I'm stuck with Win98SE when under Windoze these days) a nice raw binary editing mode that rocked. SpeedScript gets my vote as second best... it was cross-platform in the days before PC's ruled the desktop world. If you don't know either, you're not Old-Skool enough.
Pondering setting up SLED as a DEXE so I can use it to edit ROM code under Linux... SpeedScript would be nice, but it can't handle documents larger than 40k or so on any of the platforms it runs on... also sillier stuff required to use any of those emulators ... at least DEXE's are seamless once you have them set up. *sigh* ---> so old-skool, I might even be pre-school :-) | [EMAIL PROTECTED] - qvid me anxivs svm? - www: rats.darktech.org - KD7KJG | | yet another linux guru in training & reality avoidance therapist at large | | tired of voting for the lesser evil? vote kthulhu & yog-sothoth in 2004! |
