Yes, because people (like you) send from addresses that are not subscribed to the list. Therefore, they have to be manually approved. If you want your posts to appear without my manually approving them, then post from an address that is subscribed to the list. It's that simple. (Why more people are doing this lately, I don't know. But except for a period a year or so ago where a smartlist update changed the default policy, the 'must be subscribed to post' has always been around, though I used to be online more often to approve things.) I -did- have a "You know, your mail will be held until it can be approved" mail that went out when mail was held, but... someone complained about how awful that was for some reason, so I stopped sending it out.
