I'm currently workin on an offline builder for my mud. However, I am also
creating it in such a way, that it will be able to be used by 90% of the mud
community. It will have the ability to load any area file, save any area
format. Strictly because I am going to have a built it "Format" section so
that the user can "set" the format of thier area file to what thier mud
uses. It will have an "auto-format" button, however that's not even in the
testing stages as of yet. It will also be able to build mob progs, obj
progs, room progs. Even include support for extra exits. It uses a database
to store most of it's variables(approx 98%). Which, could reside on the
mud's server and be accessed across the net.

Currently this project of mine is only for win32 os'. However, I will be
porting to the XFree86 when I learn more how to do that for linux. In later
versions, you'll have the ability to access MySQL db's and do on-the-fly
editing for those muds who have MySQL as thier area storage(which, Kender is
currently working on).

I'll let everyone know when I'm getting ready to release it for beta
testing.

Subject: Offline Area Builders for the current QuickMUD

Hey peoples,

ive been subscribed to the ROM digest for a little while now. (read a
fair bit of important bugs and ideas etc.) But what im after is a
reliable Offline area builder. Im currently using a cross between
SMArcaed (An edited version of Arcanum Ed). It works ok if all you
want to do is design the rooms, and nothing else. All the mob progs,
mobs, items etc are all done using the OLC in QuickMUD (I think its
1.81 cant remember). Anyone have anything that is known to work and
has a GUI like Arcanum Ed or ORB that works with ROM (Properly).
Thanks Guys and Gals.
