Hello OLC experts and rom list persons,
I noticed that OLC1.81 does some strange things. Now, I am not an OLC
expert and dont know much about it, but I am well-versed in stock
rom area coding and format.
-->1.
I noticed that in the code patch OLC wants the patcher to comment
out the door reset Case D, in db.c for area update. This would mean
that doors never get reset on tick to being closed locked etc...
Am I right in my assumption here?
This also goes deeper as in, OLC does not save arg0, nor does OLC
save door states, in my looking at it, in the right way. I could
be wrong that is why I am emailing all of you. I notice that
when you create a room with a door it saves that area by the
state the door is from the room code itself, so if
D 0 vnumroom directiondoor doorstate
is different it will not save that when it converts stockrom areas
to olcrom area. Now this doesnt seem like the right way to do this
but maybe I am not fully understanding what is going on here or
am I....?
-->2.
I also noticed that with ITEM_TYPES OLC1.81 also does not convert
stockrom areas with armor and other items types with the sh_int
or ints they have, such as ITEM_ARMOR the AC values save as flags
instead of int's, and I see no where, where rom takes into account
the flags for determing AC, cause stockrom takes the ints and calcs
the AC from an obj like ac 10 10 10 10 10 not AB AB AB AB ABB...
Am I missing somthing here or why is this....
-->3
Another thing I noticed is in case G for objects resetting on mobs
arg2 is set to 0, cant you use a -1 for shopkeepers in stockrom?
and if so OLC is converting the -1 to 0 when you convert stockrom
areas into your new OLCrom format.
Well, I patched OLC all 4,000 lines by hand and it was a real chore,
but I thank Ivan and those who put this nice code for all to use on
the net. Many thanks.
I am sorry this email is so long, but I hope some olc experts can
help me out here on these issues.
Thanks.
IK
