hehehe, it's called  "Cygwin".  that's ur problem.  ;)   That and it runs in
DOS.  Need I say more?

Someone familiar with Cygwin's Win32 version of GDB would understand this
best.  My mud is segmentation defaulting right before it calls my do_skills
or do_spells function.  I used GDB to attempt to debug the problem, but
regardless when the function is called, the mud crashes right BEFORE.

And instead of getting a traceable output in GDB, like this...
