OT: SQL vs MySQL

This is mostly for Tom Whiting, but anyone out there with MySQL 
experience, you’re opinion is much welcomed. I’m currently working on a 
project for a college course in network design (it’s actually a course 
based on the curriculum for the MCSE Designing a Win2k Network 
Infrastructure), and the customer has a LoB app that requires a SQL db. 
My question is this: How does MySQL compare to SQL? Are they 
interchangeable? I have already implemented a Linux file/print and 
working on adding an Apache webserver onto my network, and I’d like to 
add a MySQL db server if at all possible.

I’m sorry to post to this mailing list, but with all the experience I’ve 
seen with MySQL, I hope that someone could at least point me in the 
right direction.
