Part One: Views on Botting
Personally, I script something, again the tedious stuff. I don't generally take botting too far, but I am for sripting. Two reasons.

1. With most muds out there and I do mean THE MAJORITY (well, non-strictly enforced rp muds), all there is to do is quest and level. Botting adds another demension to an otherwise boring existance. If you want the challenge of writing a script that actually works, which isn't always easy, then more power to you. I used to allow it on the mud I ran.

2. And most importantly, it's a GAME. It's supposed to be fun. We are all individuals and what is fun to you may not be fun to me.

Part TWO: Something I just remembered.
I know this is kinda old, but I just remembered something a mud I played had. It wrecked hell on scripts.

On their channels, emotes and gmotes, they had a { color code that resulted in \n\r. Players used to have fun setting off other's peoples bots.

The upsides:
Lets the players police themselves if you don't have a lot of imms.
Cuts down on the amount of botting to some extent.

The downsides:
Only the (semi)geeks can create complex enough scripts to use them.
   It's more ooc than ic.

Just a thought.
