Hello All, I'm just wondering why people seem to want so badly to release thier own Rom Deriv's that they seem to forget to add some of the most important credits..
Recently, I checked out 1STMud to help a friend get it to compile.. I decided to check out the 1stmud readme and the credits file and it would appear to be a real Rom deriv based on a stock version of Rom.. Even the header files only mention 1STMud.. But what is sad, is that the entire codebase is exactly the same as the original WoTMud-0010b. While 1STMud has hacked in Smaugs color and various other code bits from here and there, There is no mention in the original headers about WOTMUD. I have the original WotMud codebase and I am willing to bet that 1Stmud is 100% based on the WotMud codebase.. (Which already looked much like 1stmud or vise versa) It may have been hacked up and changed around to appear an original deriv, but it's obvious it's not. /** * @@ Copyright (Wheel of Time Project) * * Wheel of Time (WoT) Mud System v0.1a * Copyright (c) 1998, by Gary McNickle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Based on ROM Mud, v2.4b4 by Russ Taylor * * By using any of the WoT source code, you agree to follow the terms of * usage and liscensing detailed in the file "liscense.txt" as well as any * and all liscensing required for the ROM system. */ Credit should be given where credit is due..
