I actually created a throwing option for our MUD sometime last year, but it
wasn't used much. In the last month I updated it to allow mobs the ability
to throw objects at characters also, and also enabled the ability for
characters to throw objects into the next room, and thru portals. The object
has to be of an exploding nature though, and it causes room damage.

Personally, one thing I'd like to see is realistic ranged combat. That
is, say I'm an archer, and I want to shoot an arrow. Well, many things
should be taken into account, first if I'm a beginner, maybe I should
only be able to shoot one room away, but if I'm an expert, five. Then,
take into account where we are as well as conditions. Is it a flat
area? Then I should be able to shoot pretty far. Is it a dense forest?
I'm not going to be able to shoot very far then. Et cetera... I've
seen some attempts to implement ranged combat, but none of them really
seemed to live up to my standards (or those of people I MUD with).
What do you guys think?
