Global Education News is a monthly electronic newsletter where national global education coordinators or practitioners can share global education news and best practices, useful thematic links and educational materials. It also serves as a medium for the North-South Centre global education network national coordinators' own use. Complementary information about the North-South Centre activities can be found on the Interdependent or on Dialogue Newsletter published bimonthly by the Policy Dialogue Unit.

Dear friends,

On this summer issue you will find a basket with lots of news dealing with sustainable development :  while June was marked with the World Environment Day and world celebrations for the White Band Day, the health of our planet was discussed at Gleneagles G8 Summit in July,  while September promises to be a milestone with the forthcoming Millennium+5 Summit.  Such issues are developped under § 2 and specially under § 7 where you will find a new entry on the Millennium+5 Summit and more information about the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development and the useful Education for Sustainable Development on line.  Sustainable development meaning future, speaking about future leads us to Youth.  You will find information on this front under § 2, but also under § 4 with, among many other useful ressources, the United Nations World Youth Report 2005 or the Amnesty Report 2005.  Under § 3 and useful thematic links we draw your attention to the Social Watch link.

Of course this is a sample of many other informations you will find on this newsletter Summer issue, trusting for a promising future!  And for a promising future, go for sharing good practices under § 9 or go for new partnerships under § 8!

Wishing you a fruitful reading and looking forward for your comments or views you can address to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
