Director Cristi Puiu's movie "The Death of Mr Lazarescu" has been received another three accolades, this time in the 7th edition of the Bratislava International Film Festival which took place between December 2 and 10, according to the official site of the event. The Romanian movie received a special mention by the main jury for "the author's convincing vision," the special mention of the ecumenical jury because it "shows the dangers of the bureaucratization of the medical system and the strength of a courageous man in opposing it," as well as the student jury prize for "the exceptional simplicity of his powerful story."

The festival's grand prize went to the production "The Cave of the Yellow Dog," which is Mongolia's proposal for nomination in the best foreign movie category at the Academy Awards. American actor George Clooney was considered the best director for his "Good Night and Good Luck."

The competition brought together 19 directors in their first or second feature-length fiction movie. In another section of the festival, dedicated to the movies which have proved the most popular with the public, "Orient Express" by director Sergiu Nicolaescu was presented. At the same time the Austrian movie "Crash Test Dummies" which includes Romanian actors Maia Morgenstern and Bogdan Dumitrache was included in the "Free Zone: Making Money" section.
