presents a Training in:

"Making a Difference in Our Lives – How To Be a Peace
Worker"

"How To Be a Peace Worker" is a practical training
programme for individuals interested in working for
social change, equality, tolerance, peace and conflict
transformation in their communities or
internationally. The training will identify skills and
tools for peace workers, what peace workers do, and
how to prepare for work in conflict situations in
daily life, in our communities, countries and
globally.

 

Learn Skills and Methods for:

- Dealing with Conflicts positively and creatively –
in our community, our homes, in ourselves, and even
internationally

- Preventing, overcoming and resisting Violence in all
its forms

- Working for Social Change, Equality and actively
building Peace in our communities and internationally

- Understanding ourselves and our society – "Peace
begins with Me"

- Awareness and understanding of Collective Psychology
and Social Structures which create conflict

- Practical peace work in situations of International
Conflict

- UN – TRANSCEND methods for Conflict Transformation
at all levels in society

 

About the Trainers

Denis Matveev is Trainer and Project Director at the
Romanian Peace Institute and with TRANSCEND
International.  He has led two peace building missions
to Moldova-Transdniestria and has worked widely as a
facilitator and trainer - with corporations, community
organisations, schools and NGOs in Romania, Moldova,
Australia, USA and Austria. He has completed the Peace
and Conflict Masters course at the UN-awarded European
Peace University in Austria.  Before moving to
Romania, Denis was the Vice-President of the Russian
Council of the state of Victoria (Australia), and
Strategy Manager for a major Australian corporation.

 

Marius Balo is Project Coordinator and Peace Worker at
the Romanian Peace Institute.  Marius has completed
his graduate studies in the USA, focusing on social
ethics and psychology.  He has worked in Romania and
the US as a public presenter and trainer on social
issues over the last 4 years.  Marius' work at PATRIR
is focused on the Moldova-Transdniestria Project,
where he has participated in the institute's most
recent peace building mission.
