S-ar putea sa ma insel -- eu am
inteles si-a retras afirmatiile anterioare cu vreo doua saptamani
inainte de proces (si nu la aflarea deciziei instantei), in speranta ca
astfel va obtine o condamnare mai usoara. A incercat sa-si justifice
pozitia de negare a Holocaustului jucand rolul "convertitului" si afirmand
ca intre timp a avut acces la dosarele personale ale lui Adolf Eichmann.

Aveti dreptate, motivele lui reale de "convertire" sunt
frica si speranta intr-o sentinta usoara, asa ca scepticismul fata de
"schimbarea la fata" a lui Irving este intemeiat. De fapt el nu a reusit
decat sa se discrediteze ca istoric.
