Press release, July 27, 2006 Kaleidoscope Team Announces Major European Awards for Excellence in CSCL Research To honour and stimulate high-quality research, design and development in Computer Support for Collaborative Learning across Europe, the Kaleidoscope CSCL Special Interest Group has established three awards. Kaleidoscope is the European research network shaping the scientific evolution of technology enhanced learning. Award categories are: - European CSCL Award for Excellence in the Field of CSCL Research and/or Development - European CSCL Award for Excellence in the Field of CSCL Technology - European CSCL Award for Excellence in PhD Research Nominations can be made by anyone involved with Computer Supported Collaborative Learning within Europe. Each award is accompanied by a prize of 1,000 Euros. The winners will be selected by a review committee. Deadline for nomination is October 1, 2006. With over 380 members, 138 of whom are Ph.D students, the CSCL SIG has members from all the countries involved in Kaleidoscope. The Group recognises the multidisciplinary nature of the field of CSCL, including the design of learning environments, the design and implementation of technological artefacts, and methodologies and theoretical frameworks for evaluation of learning activities.
