EDAP is a high standard online series of working papers. It has been founded by the by two research institutes situated at the European Academy in Bolzano, namely the Institute for Studies on Federalism and Regionalism <http://www.eurac.edu/Org/Minorities/SFeRe/> and the Institute for Minority Rights <http://www.eurac.edu/Org/Minorities/IMR/> at the cradle of the new enlarged European Union, namely on the 1st of May 2004, and hence marks the beginning of an increasing process of diversification within the European Union.
For its anniversary on the 1st of May 2010 EDAP seeks papers contributing to the theoretical development and empirical exploration of various approaches to the growing reality of diversity embedded within Europe. Diversity is hereby understood in a broad sense as encompassing the diversity of ethnic identities, of cultures, of regions, of values and identities, of institutions and structures. Regionalism, federalism, minority protection, multiculturalism and more generally, "constitutional flexibility" in Europe at large, are therefore core topics that underpin EDAP's focus. In particular, we concentrate on diversity - especially but not exclusively - from the perspective of comparative constitutional law and EU law. Nevertheless, contributions from other disciplines such as political science, international relations and economics are also welcome. Abstracts of between 500 and 1000 words should be submitted to [email protected] prior to February 20, 2010. Accepted articles have to be submitted prior to April 1, 2010. Each contribution shall be accompanied by a short brief biographical note outlining the author's professional affiliations and publications.
