In my opinion, VMWINST should either be fixed to deal with new Vmware, or be
sent to its hard-earned retirement.
The sooner it's redundant/obsolete, the better indeed. Unfortunately not
the case yet. Scanning for PCI device "15ad:0405" might do the trick as
well, instead of relying on magic from
