Hans,
If you create a new diagram outside of your packages, you still can
place your classes on it. In that case Rose will display add a package
name to the class name, e.g. "Car (from A)". Looking at such diagram you
can easily tell that classes come from different packages. If you place
both of associated classes on one diagram, Rose will display association
automatically.
