1) Try printing to file, and then redirect that file to the
printer. If the redirection fails, then you definetly
have a problem outside of Rose.

print to file, (checkbox in printer properties)

then redirect file to network printer:

>From a DOS prompt:

copy test.prn \\Servername\printername

If you are unsure of where you printer is, go into
Control Panel, Printers, Printer name and server should
be listed. You can also go to Add Printer, Network printer,
and a list of printers and locations will come up.

NOTE:
Since this is DOS only 8 characters are reconized, so
only enter the first 8 characters of the printer name.
For example,

\\PSERVER\a234567

Even thou printer name me be a23456789, this
will usually work.

2) Here is everything I could find\think of regarding this error:

1) Make sure you have latest print driver.
2) Uninstall\Reinstall Rose per uninstall tech note.
3) Do you have Microsoft Fax... If so does that have same error?
   If so see technote below.
4) Do you have Adobe software... If so does that have same error?
   If so see note below.
4) HP Deskjet printer? See technote below.
5) Only thing else I can thing of, see following MS technote and
   see if it helps.

Problems Printing with Adobe

Adobe says when you print to the Acrobat PDF Writer for Windows
from WordPad in Windows 95, the PDF Writer may return this error:
"Could not start print job." This may happen if you've installed
other software since installing PDF Writer. Adobe's workaround:
Delete all PDF Writer references from the Win.ini file and
reinstall the PDF Writer. Here's how: 1) First off, make a backup
copy of the Win.ini file which is located in the Windows folder;
2) Open the original Win.ini file in a text editor that has the
ability to save in text-only format (e.g., WordPad); 3) All lines
that contain "pdfw" need to be deleted; 4) Save the file in
text-only format and restart Windows; 5) Insert your Acrobat CD-ROM
and in Windows Explorer, double-click the Install.exe file on the
Acrobat CD; 6) Click on Accept to accept the License Agreement and
then in the Acrobat and Related Products dialog box, choose only
Acrobat PDF Writer 3.0. The click Next and follow the on-screen
instructions to complete the installation.

   CAUSE

The Windows 3.1 drivers for the HP DeskJet printer were not
successfully upgraded to the Windows 95 versions.

   RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

1.Double-click the Printers icon in Control Panel.

2.Right-click the HP DeskJet printer, and then click Delete on
the menu that appears. If you receive a prompt stating that all
the files associated with the printer will be removed, click OK.

3.If there is more than one HP DeskJet printer in the Printers
folder, repeat step 2 for each HP DeskJet printer.

4.Locate and remove the following files in the Windows folder:

          Deskjetc.ini

NOTE: Your computer may have only one of these files, or both.

5.Locate and remove the following files in the Windows\System
folder. To avoid deleting files that may be crucial to other HP
   components, delete only these files:

           DESKJETC.DRV
           HPDSKJET.DRV
           HPSETUP3.DLL
           HPV1284.DLL

           HPVCNFIG.EXE
           HPVDOS.DLL
           HPVDSM.EXE
           HPVEXT24.DLL
           HPVHT.DLL
           HPVMLC.DLL
           HPVMLCH.EXE
           HPVMON.DLL
           HPVPML.DLL
           HPVQP.DLL
           HPVQPR.DLL
           HPVRES.DLL
           HPVTTPCL.DLL
           HPVUI.DLL
           HPVWCPS.DLL
           HPVWIN.DLL
           SCONFIG.DLL
           TBKBASE.DLL
           TBKCOMP.DLL
           TBKNET.EXE
           TBKUTIL.DLL
           TBOOK.EXE

6.Rename all the Oem<n>.inf files in the Windows\Inf folder,
where <n> is an incremental number starting at 0.

NOTE: Do not use the oem*.inf wildcard to rename files. Doing
so may cause the wrong files to be renamed. For information
about rebuilding the driver information database, please see
the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
          ARTICLE-ID: Q137377
TITLE: Removing Windows 3.1 Drivers from Wizard Hardware Lists

7.If the HP DeskJet Status Monitor is in the Startup group,
remove it. To do so, follow these steps:

a.Use the right mouse button to click the Taskbar, and then
click Properties on the menu that appears.

b.Click the Start Menu Programs tab, and then click Remove.

c.Double-click the Startup branch to expand it.

d.Click the HP DeskJet Status Monitor shortcut, and then click
     Remove.

     e.Click Close.

   8.Restart your computer.

9.Use the Add Printer Wizard to reinstall the HP DeskJet printer.

NOTE: Make sure to select the DeskJet driver included with
Windows 95, not the Windows 3.x HP printer driver. If the new
Deskjet Printer does not show up in the Add New Hardware List,
remove the Drvidx.bin and Drvdata.bin files from the
Windows\Inf folder. This will cause the Add New Hardware
Device Database list to be updated with the new printer.
