Many of us were doing OO modeling long before use cases were introduced
into UML.

We survived with class diagrams and state/activity diagrams.

So the answer is .. it depends who you're talking to.

Different diagrams have different levels of importance to different roles.

Les.

Hi Maarten,

I've worked on projects where just UML Use Case and Class diagrams were
needed, and
maintained, to produce a quality system.

On top of these UML diagrams, flow charts and entity relationship diagrams
where also useful
tools and have been maintained as parts of the various projects
documentation. Although
these were not UML based artifacts they could have just as well been.

So if I had to pick the most important ones, Use Case and Class diagrams
would get my votes
as the first to employ with Sequence as a third choice.

Sven.
